Joanna Nichols is a woman who believes in the importance of living life to the fullest and knows what it means to fiercely
pursue one’s passions.
Joanna is known in the community for being a reputable businesswoman and devoted mother and friend. Her creative energy continues to awe so many who are witness her artistic talent, and this year, she plans on taking her work to a whole new level.
Joann was born to parents who were enthralled with sports, fine art activities and all the things that make life pleasurable. From the times she was 3 years old, she already had a paintbrush in her hand, and, over time, it became apparent that Joanna’s color combinations initiated a wonderful response in people which undeniable led her to pursue her passion of art.
In grade school, Joann received an award for art that later achieved the highest honor for the district in her high school. She later graduated from Sam Houston State University and was educated into the school’s “Hall of Honor: for tennis.
This talented artist has worked for more than 10 years as a decorative painter. Her services include canvas art, specialty wall finishing, and cabinet/furniture finishing, which entails transforming furniture, cabinets, walls, ceilings and floors in homes and businesses. She continues to develop more modern styles with her decorative painting and is currently working on a new project that consists of using all the artistic mediums she has ever worked with to create large canvas art, which will portray strong characters, mainly animals, with an all-encompassing theme meaning “I Am.”
Joanna expressed her motivation behind creating art as a being fulfilling and absolutely invigorating to her. She noted that she will put on some music — one of her favorite bands being “The Turnpike Troubadors” — and get lost for hours in the creative process.
Transforming my clients’ homes offers a great amount of gratification, and I want them to be able to wake up in the morning, walk into their kitchen to make coffee and love the way their transformed cabinets or walls look, “she says.
Joanna took the bold initiative of personally painting the walls in several of the rooms in her $3.2 million dollar home, which she sold last year. Her unique, exclusive designs thrilled the buyer, and no walls were repainted.
Alongside her art business, Joanna and several other started a passive income business in the community in January of 2016. The business network is known as “The Buzz” and has attracted over hundreds of business owners.
Joanna is also co-owner of Shakti Collections, an online women’s boutique that was established in May of 2019 with Marion Trent. The clothes are hip, one-of-a-kind, creative and sought-after by women of all ages.
At the end of the day, it’s not about making tons of money. Joanna simply wants to leave a mark in the world and to be happy. She believes happiness is a choice, and this talented artist has chosen to do just that while gifting the world with her astounding art and business influence.
